Barbara has pastoral charge of the Chislehurst and New Eltham churches and lives at the Manse in Chislehurst.
Before coming to this circuit Barbara was minister of 5 churches clustered around Crediton in the Exeter circuit and while there was ordained in Manchester Cathedral at the Blackpool Conference in 2007.
Previously Barbara was an RE teacher. She then worked for Christian Aid, followed by a period as Chaplain to International Students in the three universities in Glasgow.
Barbara enjoys walking and can be seen cycling around her patch. She also enjoys playing her piano accordion, growing vegetables on the allotment and is a rebel knitter! Barbara has three adult children and is married to David, a supernumerary minister.
Rev. David Gillman (Circuit Superintendent Minister)
David has served the Methodist Church in Maidstone, Hornsey, New Malden and Battersea. He has also worked as a prison chaplain for over twenty years with both men and women. Brought up in London and having lived for long periods in London he is not fed up with it! The city is constantly changing with the possibility of new experiences every day. Its people and places offer a lens to what it means to live in an interconnected world. David is married to Gillian and has two daughters. They also have a grandson, Freddie, who was born in November 2009. The hills of Orpington will be a challenge to his cycling!
Rev. Alex Terrett
This is Alex's first appointment as a Methodist Minister, she has been a local preacher for over ten years, and employed as a children's worker within the church. Alex has worked within the Boys' Brigade for many years in the Bromley & West Kent Battalions She has always lived and worked in South East London and enjoys nothing better than a walk over Greenwich Park come rain or shine.Alex enjoys an early morning swim, and has three teenage sons so has a very varied taste in music.
Rev. Paul Hulme
The Reverend Paul Hulme has had a varied Ministry for over 30 years in the Methodist Church. His appointments have included university chaplaincy work for five years at Sussex University. Eleven years were spent in the West Country, at Newquay Wesley Methodist Church, Cornwall, and at The Temple Church, Taunton. For the past twenty years he has served in London, including eight years as Superintendent Minister of Wesley's Chapel, the Mother Church of World Methodism. He is no stranger to religious broadcasting, on television and radio, and to journalism.
